This time, they released a demo _before_ the game is out. Demo runs well, so I've pre-ordered the game.

    One more week. Can't wait.

Tell the truth, you were going to pre-order the game anyway :p

It would've been hard to resists, but Forza Horizon 3 had major bugs that took very long to fix.

If the demo wouldn't run well, I would've thought twice about buying the game.

I know, I can always see the usage of all my cores on my second screen. I know that they had to make
changes/optimize multithreading for Forza Horizon 3 and that it took them half a year to do so, but as
I said, the demo runs fine for me. I can see how this can cause issues for other users though.

We'll see if they decide to look into it.

Awesome, welcome to the poster/canvas squad!

18 months ago I bought the Xbox/Windows Elite Controller. I've been using it as my main gaming
controller, but today I noticed that some of the grippy rubber has come loose and it's getting worse:

Fortunately, I still have all the accessories, so I messaged Amazon about the warranty. It's Sunday,
yet, after only 2 hours I received a reply saying they're sending me a new one if I send the damaged
one back to them within 30 days.

It's not the first time Amazon replaced one of my purchases straight up, but it's always nice to see.

I guess you were holding the controller too tight when playing Forza :p

You're joking, but I think that was actually the cause.

Having to press and hold down the triggers with varying intensities in Forza
means you have to have a firm grip on the controller, so it doesn't just fall out
of your hands. I was just disappointed that it didn't last at least 2 years. It's
called an Elite controller after all.

The new one arrived yesterday and I sent back the faulty one. Gotta love Amazon.

Is nice that Europe has consumer protection laws. Here in the states, the controller only has 90 day warranty

There are countless of complains about it online

90 days?! 3 months?! You buy an expensive item and it's only guaranteed to last 3 months? That's fucked up.

Yep, and if it breaks outside the warranty period, Microsoft will charge half the cost of a new unit to repair it

That's very unfortunate. I hope things will change at some point.

The year is almost over but there's still a ton of games that were either just released or are about to come out.
With my Shadow Of Mordollars money I went and bought Destiny 2. It'll hopefully be our next big multiplayer
game. I'm looking forward to shooting some aliens with Stig and bastard.

I've also bought 2 indie games recently. Ruiner is a steampunk and heavily stylized twin stick shooter. I tried
getting through it on the highest difficulty but I'm stuck, so I'll probably lower it and finish it sometime soon.

The other one is a turn-based RPG. It was fun during the first 20 hours, but as I progressed, it felt like the
balancing became off. It's a very, very hard game. I'll either wait for a patch or just grab a trainer and finish
by cheating to get some of the fun back.

The 2 indie games looks very interesting
I'll keep an eye on Steam sales for those two.
