    Yeah, I read about that.
Name based on Alan Turing who did crypt-analysis and provided the foundation for researching AI. Considering Nvidia already released products for AI research, the most logical conclusion is that Turing GPU is for crypto-currency mining.

If that is indeed the case, my respect to Nvidia in developing a solution to the current GPU situation; only time will tell if that's true.

It looks like Nvidia's next generation products are around the corner

In the Hot Chips schedule log, Nvidia on August 20th will talk about next generation mainstream GPUs
Under Conf. Day 1 tab, 11:30 AM Time slot
Program | Hot Chips: A Symposium on High Performance Chips

Considering these are mainstream GPU, the High-End models will be announced sooner than that. We will have to wait next week during Computex to find out.

Rumors are going around the net of Nvidia possibly announcing the new cards during Gamescom in August.
I highly doubt that since there is no competition this year from AMD and news reports of Nvidia having surplus stock of 10XX chips. Not to mention Nvidia canceled their Hot Chips convention presentation.

The Anthem demo needed 2 1080 Ti's to run at 4k resolution

Hopefully by the time the game releases, Nvidia would have released their next generation cards.

On August 20th, Nvidia will host a Geforce event at Gamescom
looks like they are going to unveil the next generation card

Join NVIDIA GeForce To Celebrate Gaming Ahead Of Gamescom 2018

hopefully the performance jump is considerable since it has been more than two years since they launched a new architecture.

I'm sure I'll be fine with my 1070 for playing Anthem at 1080p60 at fairly high settings. Not worried at this point.

Should be interesting though. I'm always interested in the cards you're getting. Not sure why  ;).

That will depend on how the cryptocurrency crap does. If the prices of bitcoin go up then the chances of buying a gaming card go down the hill unless Nvidia implements measures that block crypto mining.

We will have to wait until next week to find out

I just finished watching the Nvidia presentation at Gamescom. They explained a lot in detail and revealed 3
(4 if you count the $20k dual thing) GeForce RTX products. RTX 2070, RTX 2080, and RTX 2080 TI.

Really interesting and impressive new tech. Great leaps were made and I'm definitely looking at maybe getting
an RTX 2070 next year or something.

The prices are disappointing though and they did not revealed performance estimates compare to the current generation.

If the 2080 Ti is 1.5 to 2 times more powerful than the 1080 Ti, then is worth the price increase.

I have a feeling Nvidia is being greedy due to the mining crap.

Yeah, no competition from AMD and pure greed after seeing that insane demand during the golden mining days is what allows Nvidia to demand these prices.

I'm not sure if I'm upgrading yet, I'll be looking into 2070 most likely. If that doesn't go too well, I'll prolly stick with what I have for now or grab a 1080 on an offer. Would probably be most sensible considering my current setup. I just want to play Tomb Raider and Forza Horizon 4 without the need of worrying about my FPS. Maybe Rage 2 as well. :D

    Edit:

Check out these prices, NVIDIA RTX 2070, 2080, and 2080 Ti GPUs: All the third-party cards we've found so far

I would advise against getting any of the current Pascal GPUs since chances are high that they were used for mining.
Even at the high prices, these new 2000 series GPU's are getting sold out; which is not surprising since it might be miners or just regular gamers who have been waiting so long for new tech that they don't care about the price.

Is good to see Nvidia changing the Founder's Edition heatsink design for a change, it has been stagnant for so long. Also some of the custom cards look odd, like the MSI TRIO card
They put the small fan on the left.

GeForce RTX 2080 Ti GAMING X TRIO | Graphics card - The world leader in display performance | MSI USA

The previous generation card had the small fan in the center, which made it look more evenly.
