This is bullshit. Why hasn't no-one noticed this before? It's not like the card came out yesterday?!

Doesn't sound like a software issue, which means returning the card is the only option for most.

Gonna try to keep an eye on a potential follow-up by the moderator on the GTX forums. Getting
a reply like that is a little bit reassuring that they're at least gonna look into this, hopefully. They
better offer some sort of compensation if this can indeed not be fixed with a driver/bios update.

Thanks for the update, Az. Please let us know if you come across any news regarding this issue.

Off-topic: They have a pretty neat forum design. Could almost mistake it for Borg's. :D

As far as I understand, none of this matter if you aren't gaming at 4K, pretty much.

Thanks for the update. Props to Nvidia for taking the time to explain it properly.

    Not only 4k.

When you increase AA/AF settings or if the game is newer with demanding graphics, then the VRam use will increase.

Not to mention if you mod the game you play. An example is Skyrim with mods

Indeed. Skyrim uses barely any power of my current GTX 660. With a couple of graphics mods installed,
I can max out the memory. So it's good to have some memory reserves in case you want to start modding
your installed games. GTA V is out soon.

Yup, I read it on a German website today, too. Wonder what Nvidia's response will be.

Nvidia has to do some good will, or else the consumers will lose their trust.

I don't believe that it was a mistake the right specs were not communicated between groups.

But if they thought they'd get away with it, then they forgot who they're selling their products to.

Wouldn't mind some goodwill from Nvidia.

    :awesome:

[Edit]: A German website just titled an article about it "Nvidia's DIrty Card Tricks."

Nvidia employee responded by saying that they are working on a driver fix.

This is better than TV. I wonder if Nvidia has anything planned to re-earn their customer's trust.

It turns out there is no special patch.

And Nvidia stance is that there is no problem

Nvidia, should make an official statement for this to go away.

I dunno... As shady as all of this sounds, somehow such things don't surprise me. I think all of this is blown out of proportion a bit. Everybody was happy, enjoyed the card, it still performs amazingly, so what is the big deal? You still cannot get a better card in this price range.

I enjoy the shit out of it, so do million of other people.
