Damn, I didn't know that. At least you got some money for your troubles. I, too, hope something can be done about this industry mess.

I wasn't planning on doing that but the system was not stable with the memory I got.
since memory prices are high, I just decided to sell it and wait for next Ryzen release
I hope next time the platform is more stable.

How unstable was it? Did you sell an unstable system? :D

I sold it for parts ;)
The Ryzen platform is damn picky with all four memory slots in use.

I kept the motherboard, will use it to upgrade my mom's computer that has a crappy dual core Intel CPU; just waiting for the new Ryzen CPUs to be released.

If the cryptocurrency nonsense doesn't go away and Nvidia/AMD don't implement limitations to mining on gaming cards and GPU scarcity continue for the Do-It-Yourself market
The other alternative to keep with PC gaming is to buy a gaming laptop or prebuild desktop from OEMs since they are not affected by current mess; they buy components in bulk

    The crypto-currencies have been dropping
I hope they continue to drop so that GPUs become available for gamers.

everyone should avoid used GPUs since they have been worn-down by the constant mining

A compact fanless PC, nice little design. A future model with Intel Ice Lake or AMD's second generation Ryzen CPUs with Nvidia Volta gaming GPU will make it more appealing.

What's funny is that the Titan Xp always get sold out. It seems people are confusing the model for the Titan V; which has good mining capabilities.

There are a lot of novice miners out there that got caught in the frenzy
