ok i ahev heard that ppl around here r sound nuts and have been talking up their systems, well show us wat u have

here mine

alot of money ahs gone into this system but it is only ss and not 5.1 or 6.1 but with yeh room i have the stero in 5.1 is not worth it yet.

over all the system i have would have cost around 20k (ouch!!)

the speakers
with cover (http://server6.uploadit.org/files/tomsullivan-s1.JPG)
with out cover (http://server6.uploadit.org/files/tomsullivan-s2.JPG)

only two but they r awsome they cost about 9k each when my dad brought them about 15 yrs ago. they only costs that much because the drivers and the lay out of the box and wiring was so good. The speaker in them r mid to high quality. so basicly u can have it as high volume as u want and it will not dip in quality

amp and preamp and other stuff
all (http://server6.uploadit.org/files/tomsullivan-all.JPG)
amp Preamp (http://server6.uploadit.org/files/tomsullivan-amps.JPG)
cd and stuff (http://server6.uploadit.org/files/tomsullivan-cd.JPG)
eq (http://server6.uploadit.org/files/tomsullivan-eq.JPG)
they were just updated in teh last couple of yrs and they good well with teh speakers. so basicly its a good system all round and it can make re-enforced concret move and casue sturctural damage to our house (which has happened  )

well, right now i cant show you my new set of speakers or the rest i currently have since i am away from home

but this weekend i will

from having experience my brother's 5.1 Klipsch Promedia Ulta hooked to an Audigy 2, the sound is simply awesome, so i cant see anything better than those speakers, and everything is just 470 USd (including the sound card)
you said you have spend 20 k, thats USD or Australian currency
thats alot man

the klipsch i am going to soon own (well i already own them but damn fedex) are loud as hell, even though is just at 40 points out of the 100 max it can go, cant imagine how loud they will be if they were at 100

anyway these are the speakers i am talking about

oh so you know how to build speakers heh
so do you have any idea how (if possible) to connect these speakers
http://www.gamers-depot.com/hardware/speakers/klipsch/promedia_41/001.htm

to a old home theater reciever (dont know the brand or model)
like this

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-uMjOghbpWDF/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?wm=fp&I=580TXSR501

just wondering, the speakers have connections only to a pc sound card

well using multi media speakers that are amped like that bring a few issues...

1 you probly won't be able to use the sub
2 i'm not sure how that front right hooks up but it looks like it might have a few extra wires for volume and bas control and shit unless it has 2 diff cords comming out of it.

but you probly could use it you would need a female to female 1/8 headphone connecter and then a 1/8 jack to rca connector and that might enable you to use the sub... it looks like the surrounds use normal 2 wire hookup so i see no grave problems with those except that front right.. also i don't know if the sub will work without that front right with the volume control and shit hooked up.. but you can allways try.. goodluck too ya..

i would honestly recommend like an onkyo home theater in a box setup instead of that they only run for like 500$ for the low end.. i personly don't care for home theater box setups but its a good way to start cheap

yeah i thought about the conflict, i think is best to hook them to the dvd player, you think thats possible?

i was wondering this question because the home theater we have is crappy compare to these speakers, which i have them as extra's
