Teh beast is released, no offence mate but I thought you said you would try and kep the polycount under 35k, my eyes are burning. I may give it a go, but I doubt it will stay in very long.

Thats not because its a bad bike, because the detail is amazing to well done for keeping all them polys under contral. But imo that is way too high for a model for VC. :D

The only thing I don't like, is that the bike shakes like mad when you get at higher speeds...Anyway to fix this?

I did download it believe it or not and I will give it a try, but make that 2 votes for the vote. Its way too high poly imo.

Very nice work on the modeling side though, maybe something a little less polyless next time.

well i guess so, but it isnt up to me. i prefer a game that actually runs to a very nice modeled bike that lags up my game for approx. 5 mins everytime it gets in sight

30k is the max so i can run vice smooth ;)
dont forget, tough im twice as old as u guys, my pc is twice as slow   (prolly more then that haha)

*ROFL* So I hope I'll never growing as old as you, ups I'm older if I remember right    . So head up, some more years and the time will come where your maschine will be faster as a lightning. Ok there's one hitch, you'll be as old as me  .

Size does not matter, awesome bike :respect: .

Btw, the link to my server is up (check the changed topic), furthermore I'll add the bike tomorrow to the mainsite.

Beautiful, man.... Beautiful.
My internet computer crashed this morning, so I've been offline today. I have to reinstall the network to transfer it from this machine to my gaming one. May take some time....
But..... man, that is beautiful.

Guys, I just tested the bike in my VC.
Eeeehm, *cough*, awesome, have no problems with the polys, strange but true (my system is old, GeForce 3).

Nice cruisin with this nice R1.
btw, Basti, nice Sounds

Honest, its the most beautiful modeled object for VC ever.

Im just surprised that the game runs smooth, even with older machines.
I think szk modeled it 100% perfectly.
Nice job, really, congrats & respect again.

The only thing I miss in this bike are the vinyls (R1 & Yamaha) and the rear mirrors, but heh, who cares... dont need them. Its perfect already.

errm gfx card doesnt matter, its the cpu that gets killed on high-poly objects cos the cpu has to render them. i got a gf4 ti4200 which is ok, but my cpu is from 99 (p3 700/100) and theres the prob.

Eat_Some_LSD
26.03.2004, 20:38
Yeah, I think people complain about polycount too much...even when you have an EXTREMELY high polycount, your game'll just get a little choppy. It's when you have huge-ass textures when stuff starts disappearing and making the game unplayable.

IMO, the best bike ever made for VC. Very well done, Szk, nice work. :D

So what's next on your project list, eh?

Gogo
26.03.2004, 20:57
@ blaer: :)
yes, there's a truth in your words. we all think that a better graph.card solves all the probs. its most the opposite. I remember back when I changed my old cpu @800 with a new one @1800, the graphics runs smoother without a new graph.card.
anyway, we may have to build a pc with 2 cpu's :P :P

lol bike mirrors are the biggest joke ever.. if you've ever ridden a crotch rocket you know what i mean.. they give you a perfect view of your shoulders though  i might do another version that has the logos and a couple slight fixes.. like the tail needs to be alot wider.. also working on a new animation file for the bike its slow going though

Gogo
27.03.2004, 15:05
hmm, szk, maybe leave the rear mirrors out. youre right.
but im looking forward for the vinyls. :D
edit: new animation file? this gonna be interesting... 8)

I have just tried this bike for the first time and I will keep it on my comp because I have figured out how to make a VCMM package for it. Although it has competition with Ganjicas model of his 996s. Which has a much lower polycount but now I can keep changing them around. :D

Eddy_Tempster
28.03.2004, 00:37
No changing going to be done here :D..I love this bike

you know you could just use my animation mod and have both bikes in the game at the same time
