Man does this game rock, gameplay plus graphics, driving the car is fun on the hilly lanscape :D

about the graphics, damn, it bring my system to its knees,

I am playing this game with medium difficulty and the game is starting to get challenging and fustrating, makes me want rip my hair out
also, like said, this game is killing my system
i better turn down the pettyness, but is so petty hehe

@ Blaer : Yep Aztlan has to practice with some multiplayer shooters first, the Far Cry demos I've played were so pretty easy :roll: .

What's new :

1. Awesome graphic
2. Very good and realistic physik engine
3. You can drive a lot of vehicles
4. Never before seen grade of character detail
5. Range of sight of unbelievable 1,2 km

hey, hey, hey, time out people, i didnt explain myself

the game is not challenging, there are times in some parts of the mission that you need to confront alot of troops at once, thats where it gets challenging, one example is the top of the carrier in the carrier mission.
the game is petty fun all around, although like said is a killer for system resources. once can notice a big drop of FPS in close spaces, because of the detail

Im gonna buy it on Monday (when I can hit the roads again) together with a new Radeon Graph.card. I just cant wait playin this game. :D

my overall review of this game up until now is, 9/10
the gameplay is great like said before, the thing that i dont like is that where in the hell is the story. I still dont get what i am trying to accomplish, besides do that and that in each mission, every time i meet with the characters, they say i will tell you later, arghh

as for this game being a replacement of half-life, as some people have been saying. well is far from that. the story is unexplained,

Story or not isn't really important for me at least for this game. The graphics, the KI and the level design is more than enough to make it more as addictive for me :) .

yeah, the gameplay and graphics overcome for the lack of story. those two things is what mainly people are talking about and made me love the game :D

also if you dont have a good video card, than dont buy this game until you do because it brings video cards to its knees, i am playing the game with medium settings and medium AA and i still see slow downs in my machine once in a while

The thing i like about this game is that the levels are big, i am not sure if i am about to end the game, but right now i am in the level where alot of those monters come out, those bastards kill you with just two blows, one to get your armor and the other for the kill, if you dont have armor well then they just kill you right away if you let them get close to you.

i think i am about to confront bigger ones, yikes shifty

the difficulty setting that i am playing is Medium,
i always start a new game like that, once i complete the game and want to replay it i increased the difficulty setting

so good luck to you, i wouldnt be surprised if you are bold after finishing the game :lol:

man, this game is long, i havent finish it, and i am afraid i will not finish it for a time, Monday i start classes again

i am getting fustrated that everytime i get killed i have to start from the last automatic saving point.

A patch with a quick save function is in progress and will be available in around 2 weeks (I've read in a forum about it).

I've played a bit yesterday (challenging mode) and wow it's really challenging :D - the enemy AI is great. I like it, but I surely would prefer a quick save as well, because if you have less time a quick save to end whenever you like would be helpfull.

I agree that a quick save is a good idea...even when I was playing teh demo, I was like, man, they need a save spo. Is there still checkpoints in the full game? Or does the game save the checkpoints? I know it didn't in the demo

Weird :?: It has to work and as well there was a cheat or something to enable a quick save function in the first demo. I've read it somewhere, don't ask me where, I don't remember. I've to check out some Far Cry fansites, maybe this is possible with the final as well.

well, i am about to finish game, i am on the last level, the volcano one, it took me too many tries to get pass one sublevel lol
too many monsters damn it in that one.

now my thoughts on the game, its awesome <-- yeah yeah i already said that

grahics plus the gameplay length + Ai = 9.5/10
downside is the saving poingts

Yep you miss a really awesome experience, like told before I'm playing the challenging mode and fighting these enemies is so cool, and furthermore the ambience is great, all is like it has to be for a great game. For now Far Cry is surely me first candidate for game of the year 8) .

anyway, i just finish the game. the ending was kind of a disappointment.
throughout the game the only thing i got was that this guy created monster to do this kind of stuff, and you need to survive, and a guy is giving you directions and seem helpful to you until the end (oops i said too much :lol: )

meaning, no plot or story. but this is the first time it doesnt matter to me bcause the game was very entertaining, graphics look amazing, gameplay, the Ai was incredible and finally the length of the game was a major plus for me.

well, now i am back to my flight simulation games. going to buy (i think) Microsoft flight simulation 2004

these games will surely relief the stress that uni will bring in a few day :?
