To make it easier for all our visitors to understand what a topic is about I like to introduce some kind of nomenclature rules. Especially due to the fact that the sequels for World Racing and Grand Theft Auto are more or less close, it should be very helpful to be guided through the topic jungle:

General syntax [game|info|type]

game could be:

WR = World Racing
WR2 = World Racing 2
VC = GTA: Vice city
SA = GTA: San Andreas
XR = xpand rally
NFS = Need for speed

info could be

SCR = scratch, a totally new made mod
CONV = conversion, the transfer of a mod from one environment to antother (e.g. from one game to another one)
MOD = modification, any kind of modfication of an existing mod (e.g. a new handling, some new rims or similar)

type could be

WIP = Work in progress,
BETA = beta version, a pre-release of a mod
REL = release, the more or less final release of a mod

So a title can look like:

[VC|CONV|REL] for the release of a conversion for Vice City, or

[WR|SCR|WIP] for work in progress information on a scratch made mod for World Racing

Please try to follow these rules. Anyway the moderator will have a look at it, so don't be confused if your topic title was changed.

Thx for your cooperation :) .

how's about introducing a new type between SCR and CONV?

i'd say it isn't enough just to separate it into "scratch made" and "converted",
here an example:

one of my cars was based on a free 3ds model, i've added lots of things like the whole interior and blabla... the base model had 3000 poligons, now it has over 10000!

calling it "scratch-made" is an insult to the original author, calling it "converted" is an insult to me :)

you got the point?

so how's about a new type like (S&C) or (HYBR) or (MIX) or (PSCR) or whatever, any idea?

although there should be some rule, like "use this type when the scratch made part is bigger than the converted part" or something in this direction...

tell me your opinion about that please :)

You're not the first one who converted a car heh, other great modelers in
the GTA scene (for example!) did that too, took a base model out of NFSU
for example and then added the whole interior, engine and extras. They
still said they converted the car.

That's the difference between a simple but well done conversion and a great
conversion.

Thank you for your input and sorry if that's like an insult for you, but it's been
like that for a very long time and it worked. Those new descriptions would
only cause a lot of confusion in my eyes.

So I would say 'keep it as it is'.

Thanks for your post :).
