We're moving to Planet-Multiplayer.de (12.01.05)

I started to move all the stuff from one server to the other. So don't be worried or confused. Strange thinks can happen, a page that you loaded a scecond before can be gone, the board that you posted on can go offline and other odd things.

So please be patient, moving from one server to another and making all running smooth again like before is hard work and takes some times.

I'm just going thru some tests for the forum atm.

Dunno if you know it Borg, but the 'latest 15 topics' table at the bottom of
the message board doesn't seem to by syncronized with the rest of the forum
yet if you get me. This post for example won't be shown at the bottom, altho
it should because I just posted it - do you know what I mean?

If you know it already then just ignore this post :lol:.

it works when ever you refres your page after a post, that's what I noticed.
One rant, this new host has a pop-up which I don't personally like, and the popup killers I have don't kill it, which makes it more irritating 8)

Thx for the info Sticky. I noticed this as well. I try to figure out what the reason for this odd behavior is. Atm just press F5 for a refresh and all is fine.

I'm at my office now and the refresh works like usual, odd world. Do you still have problems? I did some post now and didn't have to press the F5 button once.

Edit: I did a fault in showing the latest 50 topics. Sticky, announcements and so one aren't shown at the mainage atm, I'll correct this today evening.

Yeah, Borg is gonna make the Mainsite compatible to different browsers
like he did on the old host, before he had to move everything.

For now it is only Internet Explorer compatible and works there 100%.
He only wanted to get the basic things working and will do all the smaller
updates soon.

Agreed that popup is f*cking annoying and it seems nothing can stop it...... nevertheless the page isnt flooded with them, but it would be better if it was a "real" pop-up.

And we're talking about just one ad, not more not less. I'm happy that I found a new host which hosted over 1 GB for free, so I surely will not complain in any way ;) .

I'll try and change my settings, and yeah although its one its the positioning of it and teh fact you cannot just go to your start tab and right click and close thats annoying. Its positioned basically right in the middle of the screen. Thats why its annoying, however I dont visit here as much as I did so I will learn to live with it............

Dont know if anyone else gets any problems but I have one. At the bottom of the page below where it reads:
This data is based on users active over the past five minutes
I get about a huge black gap with nothing actually there. A refresh usually gets rid, but I guess it shouldnt be there.

Also this is an idea but what the hell, the latest 20 topics, looks too full I noticed some new categories have been added like 0 posts, I dont know how long they have been there. But maybe that would look neater and easier to read if it was tabulated data? With colums, to show eah category instead of following on from where the last part stopped.

The ad that pops up at the main page doesn't always come up for me, and when it does it's easy enough to close, so no big drama. The small banner ads do spoil the colour scheme of the site a bit, but apart from that they're no big deal either. Opera actually makes some of the banners really tiny, so they're even less of an issue.

I just got that problem again with the last 15 topics table at the bottom of
the forum not being updated - only when hitting refresh/F5.

I will see if it appears again.

One more thing regarding that part of the forum. On the 'old version' of
that table at the bottom I could click on a link and was directed to the
topic. But now it's more like a link and I get an extra window when I click
it.

Do you have infulence regarding that? Or does it have something to do with
planet-multiplayer's php stuff as well?

It's more than odd. In my office it works great and at home I've the same problem as you.

I wrote an e-mail to Planet-Multiplayer, most probably only a PHP setting on the server or so.

Meanwhile we all try to get used to the F5 button :lol: .

The folks over at Planet-Multiplayer changed some settings and all works fine again for me. So consequently it should work for you fine too. Tell me if there're still any problems.
