from now on i'll post all my projects and releases in this thread! :)

so lets start with a list of all my current projects:

in early development:

-Mercedes Benz 190E (122ps)
-VW Phaeton (335ps)
-VW Passat (130ps tdi)
-Dodge Ram (-)
-Toyota Corolla E10 (88ps?)
-VW Golf 1 (tuned with loads of stuff)
-VW Polo 86C (g40 113ps)

the last two are scratch made by me, the corolla... lets say "almost" :wink: ...


almost finished:

- Audi A4 1.8T (150ps) by DJ Wichur

this car rules! its a real polygon bomber with 50000, but it had mayor smoothing problems... it took me days to fix most of them, you still see some flaws here and there... in the interior i've added lots of stuff so it can have a dash view...
has a nice stiff suspension, really nice to drive!

btw, i've added a slight turbo whistling in the sound... its not very loud but it must be!

i know... Krom already made an E36... :roll: but Sin5K4's has such a nice dash! the sound became very BMW-like!

hehe, actually i wanted a passat variant as well, my father drives a green variant, but thats the w8 from mAck (need to get permission as well :wink: )
i've cut out the w8 logos and added other (normal) wheels... it needs a better interior... maybe i use one of a super detailed skoda superb, that has the same shape and retexture it...

the corolla makes much progress right now, btw!

btw, i have a problem with the engine sound...
is it possible to set the sound volume higher somewhere in editcar, or alternatively set that full throttle background sound less noisy? (you know, that certain noise wr inserts after 4000rpm automatically)

all my engine sounds are quite low volume, but if i set it louder in goldwave for example they start to scratch/knock/click... whatever...

who knows a solution?

Haha always the same question (this isn't only you, I notice this question regular from many folks ;) ). Keep in mind that converting to WR is tricky and much work, so it takes a while for sure. Gangster will give us a wink if one of his cars is available for sure ;) .

there were lots of big testpapers and other school stuff which kept me that busy (its going to end with school, means lots of stuff to do)...

but now is christmas and finally lots of free time!

VW Jetta 2 in progress, exterior was based upon a free 3ds model, but every little part was spread in 10 metres radius! i had to put even all the little plastic crap together again, hard work!

oh, the audi a4...
it was one of these cars where every single polygon was detached, normals looked horrible...
i tried to fix it for days, and the result was that everything got too smooth and looks too blurry, it looks like crap! :?

so i abandon that one... :?


and about moving wheels, well, with these 5 cars its too late again (all this converting, and they are joined already), but i forgot to mention the sixth baby, a lovely Skoda Octavia! :)
- it was a free 3ds model, quite nice and bugfree exterior, although i've added lots of improvings again... :wink:

but i'm still busy with the whole interior, for example i didn't insert the steering wheel yet, this time i could make it moving, but one thing:

Looks at a car with the cpit folder, in there you find files name like:

ARMS01_....MOX (... it's the car name)
ARMS01_....MTL

to

ARMS10_....MOX
ARMS10_....MTL

These are the files for the steering wheel in cockpit view. Edit them and you'll get what you want ;) . Have at a look at one of Reilsss cars for example, if I remember right this one here has these files:

iv drived passat 1,8T 150hp and... with this small turbo there is no turbo sound, there is no turbo-hole, it works like a normal (realy good) engine for me ;)

Its the same, like taking a Porsche 911 Turbo, and using a normal 911 engine... And 2 different engines? The Turboengine must not have the "real" sound but the 180 Hp...

and the RS has another little lip under the frontskirt, well, at least it had on the pic i saw... :wink:

I've also been thinking, can you make cars in 3D, or do you only use existing 3D models, and then convert them into MBWR? If you can make them yourself, then I might have 2 cool idea"s for you:

- BMW M5 E60
- Citroën C2 1.6 VTR

I have all the materials you want to make these cars (incl sounds), and for the C2, we own such a car. We also own a Volvo V70, in case u were planning on making such a car.

for now i've just converted most cars from other games, like cadillac, camaro, wrangler for example

but i've also done a lot on some models, mostly interiors because many people don't care about that, corolla for example

and the new generation is this: i take a free 3ds model as base... but mostly they are undetailed, i need to cut them to all their little pieces, lots of parts missing or need to be done again, and i need to create the whole interior from scratch... here golf, jetta, octavia as example... these cars i can say are at least 70-90% mine! :D


a 100% scratch car, thats what i want to try now! :)
but your suggestions would be too difficult for me, i want to start with something easy like a vw polo of the 80's, or a travel bus!

i've put so many poligons in the dash that it doesn't even need a plastic texture...

the dash can't have better textures, it doesn't even have one... :?
but i fixed that strange gap in the cockpit roof (you see it on the upper left on the previous shot) ... that was quite annoying when driving!

as you see it has open roof and side window, which you can really see from inside too! :wink:

you mean the fender, right? hmm... i didn't notice that in game, but the model is quite low poly, it has 10214 polygons, but most of that is my interior! :D
and i can't change the normals because they will be auto-calculated when exporting to 3ds usually :?

no it was lwo... zmodeler has problems to import lwo sometimes, everything is joined to one piece so i can't work... then i moved all stuff around in lightwave and now i can cut and separate all stuff in zmodeler...

it was one of these cars where every single polygon was detached, normals looked horrible...

my pc was totally screwed up because of a f***ing virus or trojan or whatever, internet was barely working, as all other programs... the end was that everything got deleted and i could install windows again... :?

and the newest free beauty i found on the web is this little rice machine: :)
a first generation Honda CR-X, lets make a little monster out of it and plant in a 150ps engine 8)

it was the same thing as with the bmw, i had to cut it into lots of little pieces of each material again and spread them all over in 10m radius in lightwave... so i could insert it to zmodeler, where you need to separate it again to all the materials and then glue it together again :D
(anyone remembers those revell glue kits on christmas? :D )

obviously without interior as alwas and lots of other things to do on that :wink:

i'm not sure how to call it, it looks like the older audi 100, but the engine (2.5 tdi with 140ps) is from the refreshed version since 94, when they renamed it to A6

the cool thing is that i've found absolutely ALL technical data of it, even the torque curve :wink:

Yeah, that audi is cool.

And it is an audi 100. After the 94 model, when they renamed it A6, the car had white glass next to the headlights, instead of orange. The bumpers are a little different to, after 95 they were in color of the car.

I think there is a lot of parts in your cars which needs detatching (?). Now they are too smooth.

omg, forget that now! almost every bridge there is way too small... :)
i'm still testing the scenarios if there is some evil tunnel, but it seems as if all tunnels in wr are ok! the bus has a ride height of approx. 3,20m, (that air-condition box isn't in the collision model)

detaching some stuff, hmm, i don't think so :? i'm quite satisfied with the model a.t.m. and polycount is high enough ... but the handling still needs some tweaks, lets see if i can make an exception and release it as soon as possible :wink: (in most cases i finish a car, then it is in the game for a few weeks and after ages i make it release-ready :oops: )

btw thanks for the passengers but no, its faster when empty :wink: (can be a difference of a few tonnes, empty its 13 1/2 tonnes)

i've tested the roof camera... its kinda useful to have a look if the tunnel in front of you is high enough :D but it looked crap because there is no detail on the roof, it looks like 1/3 of the screen is a reflecting mirror... i would have to move it 3-4m backwards to the air condition box and the roof hatch, but thats too far to get a good view on the road :?

so lets take "guy between the first row view" :D

cockpit view will be prefered i guess, even by usual hood-camera or external camera users, because thats the best view this time :wink:

Very interesting handling (I'd say that's how a bus should be in WR), very nice model incl. cockpit, good sound, lots of unique details and features (hood camera etc.) ....

BUS:
The handling suck esp. the transmission and suspension.
The dashboard isn't accurate and dash camera is too far from steering wheel.
It needs more details outside and inside.

with all that chrome parts it will look hot in dark colors, can't wait to see the reflections! :D

there is a lot of 3d stuff this time, all lights are 3d (even the bulbs), grill and underbody are fully 3d... :)

what do you mean with bad shadows? (its always looking worse in zmod than in wr :) )

but usually i avoid detaching because i've noticed that somwehere in my z3d-mox conversion separate points which have exactly the same coordinates may get joined automatically and the normals are f*cked up again... :?
additionaly to that a tight polygon mesh is better for the damage model and the reflections, i'd say :wink:

KinGleR, but don't forget the 5 cylinder machine, that one will rock 8)
but with the diesel you will be very happy to reach 150 :lol:

Green places are very well modeled :respect:
But red ones need some work :
1.It think there is wrong placed chamfer , maybe I'm wrong.
2.Bad dark place , detach should fix it!
