Yeah, I never used to participate in forums before Borg, because you ask a simple question, and you get a hundred 13 year old brats calling you a 'noob', everyone's gotta learn sometime, and not all of us at the age of 10-13 had parents who showered us with expensive equipment with which to learn this stuff. Forums are meant to be a place to share knowledge, but with most of em everyone does anything but. I like how on this forum, everyone is more mature, but not without a sense of humour. Well, I got my own opinion.


Basically, I only went to GTAF for the hot chick topic :dance: and the modification showroom. They are rude there. I never really liked them. Although you cant go calling them ' cry babys ', that is immature. Sure, they have problems, they are rude to almost all new comers. but calling them names just makes you stoop down to their level.

It's a hard place, difficult to survive there.

I mean the stars they give to good behaving members and to those with bad behavior

if you ask me, that is just plain stupid, members with good stars will feel superior and look bad at those with bad stars

it should be like hardforums.com where there is no such things, so that people dont have anything againts a member

Some have got it right some have got it wrong. I WILL support GTAF partly.
Aztlan, you are right in small parts about karma star, but as a whole are wron I belive. I have a karma star at GTAF and dont act surpirior to others, some will do buts I think most dont. People are usally rightly given bad stars or good stars for a reason, sometime the strs are handed out for smaller things.
When Myriad comes out I aim to get everyone working on the mod a karma star, or a bad one removeed its all help towards this mod so....

FRom what I know about the situation they closed it down for a reason I dont think illspirit would have closed it because of something small, but this got outta control. The problem part mainly occur in Gen Chat or The Pit. There is no problems like this in the editing discussion and mod showroom, sure there are idiots who ask stupid questions but they cannot read the writing or rules.

There are alot of so name n00bs around GTAF that spoil it and make it pointless. I dont now why they close whole site down when really its only a few part of the site that are causing the truble.

Seems a little strange, but there is nothing that can be done.

Nope, was closed down yesterday. :( If you go the GTAF homepage, you'll find that there is no link to the Pit. Sad, really...one of the few places where the whole point was to vent frustration and be able to contain the chaos...meh.

I'd suggest The_Borg open a Pit-stylee forum, but I really don't think I want to flame anybody here. :lol:

well, I know that you have a karma star and you are a forum leader, you dont feel superior since you are a calm guy, that cannot be said from the rest, I have seen it in the area of conflict you guys said
for example when a member sees that the opposite member is 1 star short of being banned, I have seen them come with comments like " I am trying to make you that final star so they can ban you"

I tried that forum when you help me get my account back (which I thank you) but I left for good because people there are simply rude, plus I totaly lost interest in the game,

the pit was also the major contributor for hostility, a member makes a thread complaining about a member, and the rest come and make bad comments to that person,

as i am a regular gtafourm user i guess i have my two cents to add too. i cant say i like the place that much really but for some god damn reason i still keep posting at the damn thing. i always feel like eveyone there hates me, but then again everyone on there hate everone else too. the place has gone down hill big time and ill be the first to admit it. i have almost 2000 posts on there and i now think that place is compleat shit. i want to make a milestone thread but im not a respected enough of a memeber so i dont out of fear of being flamed, thats how bad it is. their all savages on there. i will admit i have been -stared 4 time and +stared 2 times, and i really think the hole carmma system needs to go to its worthless because like eat_some_lsd said most of the people got theirs do to sucking up to mods and admins.

GTAF is a hard place, but I have never had a star well bad one, mine is for LC mod, but tbh people such as Steve M should get them and they have and deserve them.

People in Gen Chat get praised to much, and most of the mods dont visit the mod showroom much at all so people dont get any karma or very little. I to always wondered why you had no karma blaer. :roll:

What I see from been a led by or mod for the Myriad sub forum at GTAF is to help out, thats my job there to help get things sorted keep the place tidy, but there are stupid people that like to spam and should be banned that are not.

I dont mind the place, im not really hated I dont think, or I am not too respected but I get by and I think I go by ok, I would say I get along with most people there, the ones who I dont I would not speak to.

Ermm that was the rule, you get a star for an oversized sig and when you change it or make it smaller it should be removed.

I think its alot better to have sig sizes, then great massive ones that are not 5x ova the limit do not slow pages down.

Anyway, about GTAForums: I think that the climate there is too cold for me (I don't want to catch the flue again) and that's why I post there only randomly. The peeps there are sometimes very, VERY rude towards other people.. Maybe it's because the size of the forum. I've been or am a member of 6 (or was it 7? hmm... who cares anyways) different forums and GTAForums has by far the most chilly atmosphere I've seen. All the other forums are (or were) much smaller and much more friendlier. Like this one originally DN3D themed (now there's all sorts of other stuff too) forum. I just can't remember anyone attacking at someone because his/hers map was too crappy or something. They do, however, say when there's clearly need to make something better. Constructive critisism. Not just typing something like "That sucks d00d!! My 2 year old sister could make a better car/whatever in 3 days!!". Ok, that's a bit over the edge but I'm sure you'll get what I mean ;)
