What do you drive?

I just had this idea of making a thread where everyone can share pics of there car(s).

I'll start this thread out with my car. My 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme which I love very much.

these first 2 pics where taken late last year and the other 2 where taken early this year.

http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/4611/olds01vr3.th.jpg (http://img58.imageshack.us/my.php?image=olds01vr3.jpg) http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/718/olds02yh5.th.jpg (http://img523.imageshack.us/my.php?image=olds02yh5.jpg)

http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/138/olds06ny9.th.jpg (http://img524.imageshack.us/my.php?image=olds06ny9.jpg) http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/8116/olds07bx0.th.jpg (http://img59.imageshack.us/my.php?image=olds07bx0.jpg)

I painted my grill silver instead of black that made it look plain.

how do ya like my spongebob air freshener? lol I'am 22 years old and love spongebob.

If you want to share pics of your car(s) please feel free to do so here. It will be cool to see what everyone drives.

Here's my Volvo S40 1999, loving it. :D

I got plans to paint those black rims to bodycolor sometime when I got more
money. Also bigger tyres and different rims for summer :)

EDIT

Nice car Steveo, there's nothing wrong liking Spongebob

Spongebob rocks ! I like him too :D I drive Nissan Maxima from 1996 ( Don`t have pictures atm, will go out later and take some ), if I remember good. That`s my parents car actually, but I drive it sometimes too. Next year I`ll probably gonna have my own car.

Flash nice car, I like S40 very much, don`t know why, but to me it`s one of the nicest volvos o.o.

But indeed, nice rides guys :).

I ain't rich so the car's still stock, nothing fancy. I'm in love with the color tho.

[edit]: Bought it so I was able to get to the Barracks quite comfortable :).
Did 22.000km with it in the last one and a half year that I got it. Last winter
me and a few mates drove to a parking lot that was covered with snow. Two
trees were standing there and I had los of fun doing drifts around those trees,
ah the times :D.

Finally I see a guy of around 20 years old (or young) who actually DOESN'T rice up his Golf, Civic, Corsa or in this case 206. And I also like that color (only kind of orangelikely tint I like). :)

Nice cars guys, too bad I can't join as I don't have the right to drive now and I live just about in the citycentre so we don't need a car, unless I want to impress peeps.

Lol, personally I think Spongebob is utter crap and just plain dumb .

Nice color indeed Sticky 8)

I was going to buy new 206 wagon GTI version but they were bit too expensive
for me so I bought the Volvo. Didn't want to buy used GTI, can't know how
the old owner had treated them, full throttle all the time perhaps heh :)

Thank you guys :). I like the dark red of your Volvo, too, Flash. The only
other color fitting that car is the dark blue they got besides some other
colors. Oh and black lol.

Nice color Sticky, remembers me a bit of 350z`s Lemans Sunset  .
Haha, nice :D. You don't happen to know someone who would swap that
kind of 350z with my Pug?

Steveo
02.10.2006, 20:33
@Rodney I would skateboard if I could lol. I've tried many times but failed badly at it.:)

@Sticky Nice Peugeot man, we dont get those over here. Like everyone else love the color.

@CLR-GTR I'am planing on getting a civic cause I like them alot but I'am not gonna go crazy with it like some people do.

No one drives french cars here, well at least I haven`t saw any french cars so far. Anyway, just got back from outside, took a two pics of the car.

Nissan Maxima 1996

btw few days ago got myself a new camera. Brought back the Olympus 710 back, didn`t like the quality of the pictures, and the pictures always got blurry. Now I have Nikon, now that a camera, better picture quality, and it even tells you if you took a blurry pic etc.

Steveo
02.10.2006, 20:54

I don't have my own car, that's too expensive in this country when you are a student without a job.

I drive the cars my parents have. First one is my dads car.. an Opel Omega. People in america don't know it but it's the same car as the Cadillac Catera. That is just a rebadge of the Opel. And ppl from the UK know it as vauxhall omega.

Not my own pics, I 'borrowed' some from the big web since it's too dark now to take pics outside :D

Car is green as on this pic:

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f122/B-Buster/th_3546132.jpg (http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f122/B-Buster/3546132.jpg)

And it is the same model (wheels etc) as this one:

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f122/B-Buster/th_ScreenShot024.jpg (http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f122/B-Buster/ScreenShot024.jpg)http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f122/B-Buster/th_ScreenShot023.jpg (http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f122/B-Buster/ScreenShot023.jpg)

Secondly we own an Opel Agila:

http://www.vezess.hu/content/hauto2/269897_1.jpg

Small car but very useful. I drive to university with it when the weather is bad and I can always park with it while others can't find a parking place their car fits in

Car isn't used very much, only did 30.000km since 2002.

Steveo
02.10.2006, 21:41
The omega's a nice car, I've seen the Cadillac version around here before.
That little Opel Agila looks like it would be fun to mess around with.

B-Buster
02.10.2006, 21:44
Omega ftw. When I have a job in a few years, I'm planning to get my own omega. It's a damn relaxing car, very comfy and with RWD which I love :D

And yup you can have some fun with that Agila. It's not fast at all but in the city it's enough to p0wn some ppl

DLT
02.10.2006, 21:51
I love Omega`s  I had a ride in that kind of Omega once, liked it a lot.

Yeah it's great. But it doesn't always come out like that. Taking those pictures
took at least one minute, each .

Lol Buster, 30.000km is quite much, well done. I should fix my own Bike up,
or let my Uncle take a look into it. Guess I'll need it soon.

That Omega is quite a big car compared to mine hehe.

LOL AZ! I remembered viewing your thread with the VAuto car show pics so I knew something was funny when I saw that pic. When I scrolled down to the bottom I noticed "I wish lol" in small text.:)

That car is bad ass by the way.

FlashG
03.10.2006, 08:47
Opels eh, they are considered very unreliable here. I've heard lots of bad stories about them. Gotta say that I haven't heard much about the newer Omegas. Guess they were more reliable than Astras and Vectras. :)

Anyways I like the Omega too, it's very nice looking car and really is comfy as you said. My friend used to own one few years back :)

B-Buster
03.10.2006, 10:17
Unreliable? Hmm that's not the image they have here at all. Maybe they don't like the cold weather or sth over there.

My dad is driving cars from opel for many years and never had problems with them. That agila of us never need anything else than regular service, and the omega had just one bigger repair some weeks ago, but that's normal after 6 years.

@Az: respecto for my bike :P

@Sticky: well we bought the agila when it was 1 year old and had driven 12.000km. We did only 18k in the last 3 years, which isn't much if 2 ppl use it imo :)

StickyFinga
03.10.2006, 11:40

No doubt those things are useful in certain areas, but I don't really like them
because they influence the look of the car. No offense :). I haven't seen many
cars driving around with those in my life so maybe I'm just not used to them.

Steveo
11.05.2007, 22:29
Yeah I got it cause The rocks hit my hood really bad and I already have some rust spots on it because of that. I personally think it looks cool but thats me.

Good idea for a topic guys, good thing it was bumped :).

Ok, so this may not be the coolest car out there, but I sure as hell love it...it's not exactly my car, it's my bro's, but I drive once in a while :D.

So, without further ado, the 1981 Mercedes-Benz W123 E200 (mobile phone photos):

I so need better pics...

I got several ideas for it, mayby build it like that one in my sig or turn it into a S70R.

Steveo
11.05.2007, 22:58
@_Mike_, Nice Merc man, I had the chance to buy one of those cheap but I didnt. It was just like that except it was silver.

@Nik, Thats one of the best Volvos ever made, nice car. Are you going to but a bodykit on it or leave it stock?

Nik.
11.05.2007, 23:13
I know its one the best cos its the grandfather of the new Volvos :D

And yeah I will build it like S70R:
http://ww2.beffo.se/upload/pic~/mgso03u1ll.jpg

Or like the one In my sig, cant really deside...

Trim and chip it to 330hp+ easy fix, since Im a car mechaninc. ;)

@Nik, I think you should go with the S70R style cause that looks awesome.

Nik.
12.05.2007, 06:48
I know but one friend I have had a R front on his V70 and it got stolen...so he have no bumper now lol.

And building it as a S70R..I need to rebuild most of the rear fenders so I need a other car to drive meantime cos that takes time.

Building it like the one in my sig I just change front and backlights, front and back bumpers, wheels, grill, paint doorlists, doorhandles, Grill and a Spoiler, dont need to weld and rebuild the rear fenders.

And I have a girlfriend that says just let it be and spend the money on her insted lol...

You mean boxy. :P

Watch up on rust on the bonnet, under the grill...Volvo using economy metal on the bonnet on 95-00 years models on S/V40.

Az I'm living next to the sea, only few kilometers to the coast. Sometimes you can smell the salty air here, you know how seawater smells :)

Also at winter maintenance puts SALT on the road that they wouldn't be so slippery so it's important here to keep your car clean regularly. I usually wax it 3-4 times a year. That should protect it bit already

Nik.
15.06.2007, 09:33
Same here Flash, got around 3km to the coast, feel the salt all day lol...

is not only that...

but what wears the protection off is the drastic climate change here

sometimes the day is sunny and hot and the next day it cool with marine layer (clouds from the ocean with breeze)

or in the winter when is really cold.. occasionally we have summer weather lol

@ Nik, Nice Volvo man.

@DLT, I love that year of the Eclipse nice ride.

I found a project car that I'am probably going to buy. Its a 1994 Honda Civic Ex with a 5pd manual. Its a damn steal to cause all there asking is 300 usd or best offer. All It needs is some minor body work, new clutch and engine but I'll be buying a performance crate engine for it anyways.:)

To some a Civic is nothing but to me its a dream really, I've always wanted to get a Civic and tweak it out cause there like my favorite tuner car.

Aztlan
16.06.2007, 06:42
yikes.. that too good to be true.. it must need a lot work man..
there goes your new pc lol

Steveo
16.06.2007, 06:59
No its reall lol, I looked at it today. There rich people that own 2 brand new 40,000 dollar trucks and they also have a porsche so the civic is probably a peice of crap to them.

I'll still finish my pc if I get it. I'll get my computer done then I'll start buying parts for the car.
The cars in really good shape except for a couple small dents and alittle rust which is easy to fix. Other then the body work all it needs is a clutch and engine, the engine thats in it is fine but its got 222,000 miles on it and needs a cylinder to run. I figure I might as well replace the old worn down engine anyways.

-edit I just did some research and realized that the engine is actually fine it just needs a slave cylinder which hooks up the clutch to the motor. Still though I would get a new engine cause the one thats in it is worn down.

I can make a pretty long list of cars I drive at work.. let's see how far I can remember them:

Loads of cars but no Audi's or Saab's.

Those are pretty much the cars I drive with on a normal day... where I also should say that we have +- 5 of every model.

I'm sure I forgot some, cos it's just too many to remember.

You need to change job. :P

@Nik: hehe, there are Volvo's for rent at our company, but not at the office where I work. Two or three times a week I got to bring a car to the headoffice 100km from us, and there I see much cooler cars like a cadillac cts and some audi's :)

Those aren't rent much though, so it's only occasionally that we have a car like that at our parking terrain.

Such 7 series are nice, my favorite kind of that model actually. But pretty high operational costs, so unless you got lots of money I doubt it's a good car to start with. Not to mention insurance :-)

I myself don't have an own car atm, will buy one within 6 months. I do drive lots of cars, since I work for a car rental company. Everything from renault clio's and opel corsa to volvo v70, audi a6 and cadillac cts we got there. Also some vans.

damn, i didnt saw it...
yip, i like that car, it has so big and comfy interior and 3.0d "eats" less than 5.0 or 4.5.

yeah, insurance for that car is kinda not so good for wallet.

B-Buster
30.12.2007, 19:45
Fuel costs aren't so big compared to the rest.

Here in my country, that car would cost around 1600 euro of tax a year, 150 euro of insurance a month and then you don't even have covered fuel and maintenance.

azo
30.12.2007, 19:45
Not only the insurance cost much for that kind of car, but it also costs a lot to actually have it.

tomz777lv
30.12.2007, 20:00
In my country, these models are many times stolen, so it adds more cost to insurance adding plus minus those wrote by B-Buster. As i think one of problems are its big weigh, so parts wear out by the time.
I also was thinking about Audi A6 C5 with 2.5tdi or Lexus IS200, they all have high insurance (in latvia) so only thing what i am turning attention is other costs.

Nik.
30.12.2007, 20:05
If you want a cheaper big car look at Japanesse and Swedish cars, VW aswell but Audi,Merc, BMW and Lexus is way to expensive.

tomz777lv
30.12.2007, 20:15
i know i know, swedish cars are ok, my father drives one (Volvo XC70 d5), but they dont give a pleasure of driving what gives BMW. I dunno i still have time to change my mind, but now i stick with 730d. i found great one for 7300 eur http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/2537/bmw730d29980fj5.th.jpg (http://img441.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bmw730d29980fj5.jpg)
take a look: Automatic gearbox , abs, all electric options, , xenon, PDC , seat heating, stereo , TV , Navigation, CD and light beige interior any many more.
Does cheaper car with less insurance gets that options? like VW or Mazda?

DLT
31.12.2007, 17:52
I`ve seen the new Impreza and here`s my opinion. If you are buying one make sure you get the WRX, with upgraded front grill and 18" rims. I`ve seen one like that for sale and it looked awesome, tons better than the base model. Those rear taillights have to go, tint them red or black would look a lot better than the stock ricer ones. ECU reflash on WRX will gain you a nice amount of horsepower!

STI looks tons better, haven`t seen one yet tho. Those flared wheel arches look awesome, gives it the muscular look. The new STI is faster around the track than the new EVO too, but when the FQ EVO`s gonna start rolling of the production line they gonna kick STI`s arse imo.

Here`s my conclusion, WRX would be a great purchase, good bang for the money and a great fun factor. With couple modifications it would be as fast as the STI.

B-Buster
31.12.2007, 18:12
I like the car, but when you put an Impreza badge on it I'd expect something different. I still have mixed feelings about it, cos it's so much different as the previous generations.

But as said, the car itself is nice if you get a decent version like DLT mentioned.

31.12.2007, 19:22
I agree with you guys that the old impreza is better, but if i get an impreza it has to be new for the waranty. I HATE the new STi, and the WRX is still too expensive, so it would be the base. Thats why i'm liking the '08 lancer gts more than the impreza, it looks better and has a few more options. The thing the lancer doesn't have is the extra 20hp. But it doesnt matter too much because I wont be getting one of them til this time of the year next year, until then I will be driving a mini van, 05 accord, and maybe a 300z.

DLT
31.12.2007, 19:38
If you are aiming for the base model, go with the Lancer, it is a definitely better looking car by a mile. That`s what I`d buy with my money.

Opel Vectra 2002
Ford Mondeo Stationwagon 2003
Massey Ferguson 250 Turbo - 1991
Toyota Corolla Sedan 1995
Fiat Tofas 2000

Renault Mégane Sedan 1994

And I still drive the Ford Mondeo Stationwagon when we are on Holiday in Turkey , in our village :D I always drive the last 80 km to our village at sunset
and I sometimes drive at the Toll paying lines , because 1 line can take 3 - 15 hours of waiting , so sometimes my dad is sleeping in the back and I drive the car slowly in line with the other :D that's so cool ... but mostly I drive my own car , it's very comfortable and nice , boy ... This is not the place for bragging around what a good driver you are - no matter, whether legally or illegally. So stop it, please!

I think, people with an I-am-the-best-driver-in-the-world-attitude tend to forget that there are other people on the road.
I guess, we have a different opinion on what 'a good driver' means anyways. It's things like experience and rationality that make a good driver.

StickyFinga
02.01.2008, 23:00
I agree. I'd suggest you guys take a little time-out, and try to grow up while
you're at it. No matter what you say, you are not the best drivers in the world.
You will never be the best drivers in the world. And if you're looking for other
people who drove illegally when they were (physically) kids, I'd suggest you ask
the ones who didn't pass the driving exam for the 7th time, or maybe the ones
who died in traffic accidents. There are rules out there, so try to respect them
here too or this topic soon be another locked one in the Borg Hall of Fame of
Childish Topics.

Not needed yet, Steveo. We can also handle things differently, heh.

Anyway, my little 206Y Pug is still going strong as well. :-D

I have a 2003 Chevy Impala. This car is incredibly popular as a taxi, or Police car, so it's fun to drive down the left lane of the 401(major 4 lane divided hi-way here) and see everyone move over, cause they think it might be an unmarked Police car. It's also cool to drive the Impala add on car in WR2.;)

Previous old clunkers I've owned..

97 Mercury Mystique, aka Mistake:p
93 Ford T-Bird
91 Ford Escort
90 Ford Taurus
86 Ford T-Bird
83 Olds Omega
77 Pontiac Grand Prix
77 Chevy Impala

I'd love to have a real unmarked police Impala ^^

An unmarked Impala would be cool, but used police cars are probably trashed because the police driv them so hard.

@Geez- Do you have those sweet black steel rims they have on a lot of police cars? then they would really move over.

the same as you buy ex-taxi car as example from Germany.

@ BP, I don't have the black steel rims on the Impala, it came with alloys. It was never a Police car, just a daily rental for about 9 months, till we bought it on 01/02/04.

My Father-In-Law had a ex-police(RCMP) Ford Crown Victoria he bought for $3000 at an auction a few years ago. Talk about some hard miles, it was a lil beat up, but it went like stink!

Around here that's not quite true. The PD in my city gets rid of their Crown Victoria Interceptors every 80-100K miles and many find their way into private hands via auctions & used car lots in pretty good condition.

hmmm, here the police take good care, but just drive them hard and long and they usually have 120-140k miles and are pretty beat up.

I just got my new grill today so I could put together my front light. I personally like the black better and I'am going to re-paint the truck black anyways... Plus it makes it look mean. All I have to fix now is the hood and I'll be good until I do the body work and paint this summer. I'll be installing my exhaust system soon as well which I cant wait to get on there. Anyways heres some pics of the new grill installed.

It's a 2002 Holden Commodore which I have had for about a year and a half. It's not a particularly outstanding car, but it does the job, and hasn't given me any real problems.

I got my dynomax catback exhaust installed yesterday and it looks and runs so much nicer now. The exhaust tip I have on there is a cheap old one I've had for a while but it looks good.

 Opel and Holden are the European and Australian divisions of the General Motors company. The Opel Omega is released here as the Holden Omega. It's basically a much newer version of my car. I haven't driven one yet, but they do look a lot nicer than my car, (especially the Euro version, which IMO, looks nicer than it's slightly more square looking Aussie counterpart).

i know i know, swedish cars are ok, my father drives one (Volvo XC70 d5), but they dont give a pleasure of driving what gives BMW.

Nice car, was thinking of what to get when I pass my test. the main cars I had chosen were a 2007 Mini Cooper with Auto option, Fiat 500 or on the far end of the scale a BMW 320Ci Auto.

Learning in a manual, but I'm not a driving enthusiast so dont mind an auto

A much newer version of your car.. that is depending on which version of the
Omega you take as comparisation. I think it won't differ much if you put the
original Omega B from 1995 next to it. They renewed that one in 1997, and
pretty much redid it in 2000.

Here (http://www.senatorman.de/opel_omega_b.htm) you see most of the versions based on the Omega. Most is in german,
but pics talk for themselves. :-)

Nice shape for an 18 year old! Er.. the car i mean. Yeah, I could see where you would want to get rid of the cassette player.(does anyone actually own any cassettes any more?)

one more thing, I would do, when you have the cash, is lose those WW tires and wheel covers for some nicer rubber, and some decent rims.;) BTW, what's the mileage?

I'm 23 ;P haha

That's not a cassette player either......just one crusty Clarion head unit I plan to swap out for a Kenwood w/iPod control.

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i235/huskerz85/My%20First%20Car/DSCF0939.jpg

I do need new rubber.....badly haha Those WW are a pain to keep shiny....am thinkin about throwing on some mags.

Mileage? When I bought it, it was at about 175,779mi. I went back home last weekend to do some serious work on it........so add 100 more to that.

Fuel economy really isn't all that bad. I've been getting solid Hwy. mileage anywhere from 23-26MPG. In town is where it really blows.....about 17-19MPG on avg.....this thing has a 22 gallon fuel tank too.....
